Waldstein Hotel

The customer service was top notch, and breakfast was phenomenal. Our room was clean and comfortable, and train stations are close by. I'd happily stay here again. I loved our visit.

We were treated to a free room upgrade, and the cheerful, accommodating front desk staff even carried our luggage upstairs since there's no elevator. We loved our two-night stay. The breakfast room is in a former cellar, which made the start of each day feel special. Romana, who served breakfast, was so cheerful, greeting everyone with good morning and bon appétit. Kudos, Romana, for making our mornings so positive. The location made getting around easy. Charles Bridge, Prague Castle, and Malonstranska Namesti stop were all within walking distance. I'd definitely book again on my next trip to Prague.

The only real drawback was the parking. Offsite valet parking costs an extra $40 a night, and there's another fee each time you ask for the car. Our room was about $200-$250 a night. Otherwise, the hotel was in a great location, a short walk from Charles Bridge and the Castle. I felt safe walking around at night with the kids. The breakfast, served in the fun catacombs beneath the hotel, was outstanding and had lots of choices. Our room had two side rooms and a central sitting area with a couch. It also had a thermostat for precise temperature control, comfortable beds, a mini fridge, and a coffee maker. Housekeeping cleaned thoroughly, and the front desk was helpful.

A good mid-range hotel with excellent amenities, though my small double room felt really cramped. The bathroom could use hooks and towel racks near the shower, and better lighting for shaving and applying makeup. Don't keep valuables in the safe. The property hasn't changed the master code, so even after setting a new four-digit code, the safe can be opened in five seconds. That means housekeeping and maintenance staff could access your valuables if they were so inclined. Owner, you can contact me privately to discuss it.
