The kitchen has no ovens, there are spiders in the vents, and yes, rats in the lobby. Still, there are some proper legends here. God bless Hostivar and being young.

I was here from August 2016 until January 2017. There were ants and silverfish in my room, and a guy two doors down had a lot of black mold. One Saturday morning after a night out, I came back without my keycard. The older woman at the desk was hostile and told me to wait until Monday for the “house office to open.” Luckily, a very kind security guard heard me asking for help and stepped in. Apart from that guard, I found the staff rude and felt they treated customers badly without understanding that this is a service job. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The kitchens are practically nonexistent, and cleaning and doing laundry in the basement is chaotic, even though there are washing machines there. There were no social spaces or events, and the canteen or any kind of bistro or buffet was out of order for the five months I was there. It’s a huge dorm with hundreds of rooms. Local transport is good, with buses, trains, and trams. Room size is alright, most rooms have an attached bathroom, and the heating and water are great.

The payment system is really disorganized and doesn’t inspire confidence. If you’re studying in UJOP, they’ll charge you double what other students pay.
