Mr. Beránek was a good host who seemed to value his guests. My wife liked the feel of the place, too. The street was unexpectedly lovely, beside a little pond with fish and ducks. There are two metro stations nearby, so you can take different routes.

The room was very clean, breakfast was nice, and the service felt warm. The owner communicated well despite the language gap. It’s in a quiet, village-like suburb, but metro, bus, and even night bus connections make it easy to get around. For the money, it was very good value. Keep in mind they only take cash in local currency. The blinds don’t block all the light, so bring an eye mask if you don’t want the sun waking you around 5 a.m. On checkout day, a major street pipe break left us with no water at all. The hotel wasn’t responsible for the break, and they did offer a small bucket to collect rainwater from the garden. Still, there wasn’t even water for brushing our teeth, and I felt they could have offered a bottle or reduced the final night’s charge, or made some other gesture.

Very rude. Gets flustered and upset easily if you speak English.

The owners put together a six-star breakfast, even though you shouldn’t expect a five-star setting. I love the place, and it’s close to the yellow subway line for getting into the city center.

The host is nice, and the hotel is comfortable enough. There are sometimes insects in the room.
