The hallway and staircase lights were a real safety problem. The motion sensors often switched off while we were still walking, leaving us in darkness on a curved staircase. I nearly fell several times, and it was frightening. The apartment is spacious and in a handy spot, near the main station, cafés, grocery shops and an easy walk from the Old Town. But the layout and furnishings need work. The desk is crammed into the bedroom, with no proper room for a chair, and someone couldn’t work there while another person slept. The furnishings felt cheap, and there were damaged bathroom counters, chipped kitchen paint and other spots that needed maintenance. I was disappointed by the kitchen. It had a fridge, freezer, microwave, stovetop, oven and dishwasher, but the oven never worked properly, and I gave up trying. The basic utensils were impractical, some discolored, and the wooden ones looked too worn, so I bought extra. The only pan was badly damaged and didn’t feel safe to use. The bathroom’s wall dispensers for shampoo and body wash were empty when we arrived, and there was nowhere convenient to put our own toiletries. The floor is also extremely slippery. There’s a lot of potential here because of the size and location, but the missing kitchen essentials, worn furnishings and safety issues made our stay less comfortable than it could have been.
