Sophieâ´S Hostel

We loved staying at Sophie's. The private room was quiet all four nights, and the bed was really comfortable. The place is beautifully designed, cozy and well maintained, with excellent staff. Breakfast was delicious, and having the coffee and espresso bar open 24 hours was a real plus. We'd highly recommend it to other travelers.

I liked staying here. Even in a shared room, there was plenty of space, and a drawer for clothes and other things under the bed that you can secure with your own lock. The room, shower and toilet were all very clean. I prefer fresh air, so it'd be nice if staff opened the window for a while each day to let the room air out. Still, it's a five-star hostel 😊

The hostel's central location made getting around easy. I. P. Pavlova metro station is close by, and Václavské náměstí and the Národní Divadlo are about a 20-minute walk away. The price was very reasonable, and the conditions were excellent. The rooms, showers and toilets were clean, and the whole place felt tidy, cozy and well cared for. The staff were polite and friendly. There's a small cafe by reception at the entrance. We didn't order anything, but it was handy to have there. If I remember right, they serve breakfast and drinks. You could also rent a towel with a refundable deposit, which was practical. I'd definitely recommend the hostel and would stay here again if I needed a place in the future.

The bar was nice, the coffee was pretty good, and reception being open 24/7 was a huge plus. The location was okay, nothing special. But the service was clumsy: they struggled to find a room, the card terminal wasn't working, and they assigned the wrong room number. They first tried to put me in a crowded room with seven smelly people, and the whole room stank. Luckily there weren't any free beds there, so they gave me another room, the one in the photo, which was fine. I don't understand why they try to crowd people together when there are plenty of free beds in the cleaner rooms. It made me feel like a subhuman. The price was 400 czk. For 600, you can get an Airbnb room to yourself in a better location than this hostel, and I'd recommend that option.
