The pork leg was burnt and overcooked, and the staff seemed not to care about anyone who wasn’t local. They brought me a beer I hadn’t ordered; when I refused it, they looked angry. There was also some kind of table charge and a service charge, which felt ridiculous given the service. I’d never go back.
The place is cheap, and we got good service. The food and beer were fairly decent: the goulash had a lot of garlic, and the pork rump was okay, with about as much fat as you’d expect. The decor felt a bit odd.
I only stopped in for a beer, and it was fresh, much better than the beer at other restaurants in the old town. The atmosphere seemed nice too. I can’t say anything about the food or the hotel.
The food was good, but seeing tips added to the bill along with a couvert charge made me furious. What the hell do they think they’re doing? The service wasn’t even worth paying for. We’re never coming back.
As a visitor to prag, this felt like a place locals favor, with an old, historic look. I enjoyed the food and the place itself, but the service wasn’t impressive. It took ages to place our order, and while the drinks came almost right away, the food took a while. I’d suggest bringing Czech money.
