Hostel Orange

It cost a bit more because it was Easter and I had a six-person bunk room with a few party boys around, but that’s Prague, isn’t it? I’m not usually keen on sharing rooms or bathrooms, but I made the last-minute choice to stop here and I’m glad I did. The location is great, the facilities have a fresh style, and everything was clean. There was early coffee, safety lockers and a proximity card for everything.

The entrance was so confusing that for a moment I thought the place didn’t exist. That was stressful, and it’s why I took off a star. Once inside, the rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and the location was very good. The rooms were nice too, and the front desk people were kind.

The mixed room made me uneasy: I was the only woman, with two men, one around 60 who removed the curtain and watched everything he did, and another around 40 to 50 whose noise at 2:00 gave the impression he was masturbating. You can’t control the guests, I know, but I imagine an 18-year-old girl alone as the only woman in a mixed room would feel in a bad position. Apart from that, everything gets a 10 from me. Reception is open 24 hours, and the workers are super friendly, helpful and attentive. I took a nine-person mixed room with a bathroom, and the room, bed linen, towel, bathroom and cleaning were all a 10. The location connects to everything, just take the tram. Super recommended.

The staff were polite and friendly, and I had no language barrier issues. My room was clean, the showers were hot and comfortable, and free towels are provided, so you don’t have to lend the hostel money. The location is one of the city’s best for nightlife. The electronic lockers could be good or bad, depending on your preference. Charging ports are sometimes high up and low down, but mostly at the bottom, which is annoying. Still, it’s really good, honestly.
