If you're looking for a cheap stay and don't mind a bit of travel into Prague, this is a good option. It's much cheaper than places near the city centre, and the Metro ride takes about 15 minutes after a bus ride or a 20-minute walk to the station. The private room is basic but good, as you'd expect from student accommodation, with a shared bathroom and toilet. My neighbors were quiet and clean. Check-in and checkout were easy, the front desk is open 24/7, and the man who checked me in was lovely and helpful.

Volha Dormitory is a student dorm that also takes hotel guests, so keep your expectations modest. The rooms were clean, which mattered most to me, and there's a Billa supermarket nearby. Public transport gets you to the city centre in about half an hour. The receptionist was somewhat unfriendly, though not too much. If you're on a budget and don't mind being treated like a college student or sharing space with actual students, it may be worth considering.

The place is a long way from the city and expensive for the room and service. I wouldn't trust it: water we put in the fridge disappeared, and someone from the neighboring room said they heard a person enter our room. It seems someone might get in whether you have a key or not. Reception didn't care. Don't be fooled by the pictures.

I spent five months here as an international student and found it easy to meet people. The kitchens and laundry were good, and the rooms had a good shower and most of what you need. I shared with two others, but the rooms are only really big enough for two, so I'd choose a two-person room. Kitchens were cleaned daily except weekends, so by Sunday they were messy, which is to be expected in student housing. The family neighborhood has a supermarket one minute from Volha. Some staff don't speak English, so communication can get confusing. At first it was hard to find my way around because all I got was a key, but I got to know Volha within a week.
