Hotel Jana

The cleaning staff kept my room spotless, and the receptionists I spoke with were apologetic and sympathetic. They and the restaurant staff were polite, and I appreciated how hard the employees seemed to be working. Still, the stay was poor because management’s communication and follow-through fell short. A techno party at the hotel kept me awake past 1 a.m. on Thursday night into Friday. Since the hotel knew about it, I think guests should have been given rooms away from the noise. I tried calling reception during the night, but no one answered. In the morning, a staff member kindly explained that they were severely understaffed. That’s a management failure, not a reflection on the employees trying to handle everything. My TV didn’t work. Someone said they’d send a person to fix it, but nobody came. I was also surprised to be charged for sparkling water at breakfast, since I’ve often had complimentary water at smaller hotels outside the Czech Republic. The restaurant staff were professional when they told me it was chargeable, but that policy, along with the understaffing and poor communication, needs attention. I wouldn’t recommend staying until management makes significant changes to how it treats new guests.

Everything was amazing, especially the reception. Ten stars for the welcome!

The room was nice, the staff were really kind, and there was a huge dinner buffet. Breakfast also had plenty of choices for different tastes. We enjoyed our time there, though I’d give it three stars as a four-star hotel because parts feel aged, especially the toilet, and the wellness area’s “ice faucet” wasn’t working. Maybe I expected too much from the fourth star. It could suit a relaxing wellness weekend or a company conference.

The staff were friendly, and the room was big enough, clean, and had a comfortable bed. Some materials and the shower and toilet felt old. The congress room we attended held about 60 people, so it seems suited to small workshops or meetings, and there was plenty of parking.
