Chalupa Na peci

We had a wonderful two-day stay over All Souls’ Day. The little village is peaceful, and there are lovely walks nearby. We grilled outside and enjoyed the firepit and benches. The infrared sauna was great, too. The cottage looks just like the photos, is beautifully furnished in a vintage style, and had no faults that we noticed. It was spotless, with lovely views, a fully equipped kitchen, and a stove for both heating and baking. I really can’t add anything about the facilities. Bed linen is either something you bring yourself, or you pay for towels. I’d rather have that included in the price, since it adds a little to the cost. Electricity was extra as well, about 400 Kč for two days. Neither was a big problem, and both charges were clearly explained in the conditions and again when we arrived. They seem to have it set up so people don’t waste money. Nothing about it would put me off visiting again. Thanks for a beautiful, amazing stay.

We were very happy with the washing machine and the kids’ playground in the garden. It’s a lovely cottage with everything you need, and a great base for exploring the Šumava and Lipno regions.

We chose to stay in autumn, and I’m so glad we did. It was lovely to heat the place in the oven and cook on the stove, with snowy Plechý as the view. There’s beautiful scenery just behind the barns. The cottage itself is beautiful, and you can tell the owners have put their hearts into it. Communication was quick and completely smooth from booking through to the end of our week. I thought we might get bored spending a whole week in the cottage in Želnava, but the days flew by instead. It was a wonderful stay.

There was plenty of room for our group of eight, four adults and four kids, and nobody felt crowded. The cottage has large bedrooms, two bathrooms, a big table, a well-equipped kitchen, and a spacious garden. It was clean throughout, and shops are nearby. The price felt very fair for the quality and space. It was rainy and around 10-15 degrees for a few days, so we used the tiled stove every day. Coming back from a wet outing and relaxing by the stove, or heading to the sauna, was lovely. The quiet setting is great, with Lipno and the mountains both within easy reach. Nobody wanted to leave.
