Zámek Racice

We had dinner and breakfast in the garden, which had a wonderful atmosphere. The room was newly renovated, beautifully finished, and spotless. It’s a special historic place, and one of the nicest places we’ve stayed in while in Czech!

We had a fantastic weekend. Our family especially liked the private room-service breakfast, delivered fresh in a picnic basket behind the door in the morning. The beds were very clean, which I really appreciated. I used to work as a housekeeper during university, so I know what I’m talking about 😉. For 400czk per night, don’t expect first class. If you want entertainment, a private bathroom, or satellite TV for sleepless nights, look elsewhere. But if you’re after the Genius loci, friendly staff, a comfortable night, and good beer at the downstairs bar while the tower Bell rings every hour, this place is just right.

We stayed two nights at this cozy, pleasant castle, which definitely isn’t haunted :) It was open for stays starting in June 2017, and we found the price reasonable for the place. We recommend it as somewhere to stay. Maybe it just needs a bar :)

The beds were okay, and that was the only positive. The executive apartment was just a basic apartment, without even tea or coffee, and the price was far too high. It’s obvious this “hotel” is run by a financial company. Check-in was awful: the organization didn’t answer the phone or call back. If the kind cleaning lady hadn’t let us in, we would have had to find another hotel. I’ve never had such a bad hotel experience.
