The hosts were really friendly, and the rooms were spacious. I stayed at this pension for a few days to enjoy the Czech countryside, and it was just right for that. I'd recommend it!

We were a large group who had travelled a long way, but on arrival the owner demanded more than the price we'd agreed beforehand. We also didn't get the apartments we'd booked. The place wasn't suitable for eight adults: people would have to sleep on bunk beds or pull-out beds, though the owner charges full price and calls them fixed beds. At 940 CZK per person per night without breakfast, the accommodation and service didn't justify the cost. He said the price was higher because of a cultural event, but places nearby were almost half as much, even during the event. The owner seems to count on other accommodation in the wider area being sold out, though his own place wasn't. He also serves wine that isn't really wine, more like sour molasses that customers pour over the fence. The apartments are just small rooms with tiny kitchenettes, not proper apartments. They're not equipped for four people: there weren't enough plates, glasses, or cutlery, and the pots don't work on induction. There's nowhere to eat, since there's nothing like a dining area. It was cold, the owner didn't heat the water, and it came out lukewarm in a weak stream. The owner is arrogant and answers everything by repeating the same points. He's widely known for unfair practices, high prices, and treating clients cunningly, with money coming first. After we'd paid, he no longer cared about us and insisted on cash only. We only got proof of payment on our departure day, after a long argument. I absolutely don't recommend staying here. Avoid it!

The mini apartment had no kitchen table or chairs, so breakfast had to be eaten in bed or on the floor. We also never received a proper invoice for the stay. There was an event in Šakvice, and the owner charged 940 CZK per person per night without breakfast. He insisted on charging for an eighth person even though he knew there were seven of us, saying he MUST have a full apartment. The extra person would have had to sleep on a bunk bed or a pull-out from a double bed, neither of which is a proper full bed for an adult at full price. Other winemakers told us accommodation in Šakvice could be found for around 450 CZK to 570 CZK per person per night. We arrived to find different rooms from the ones we'd booked. After we checked in and went out for some good wine, the owner called and asked us to come back and move to other apartments, since the guests who arrived after us had also been given different apartments. You can't negotiate anything with him. And don't drink the so-called wine at the owner's place, it has nothing to do with wine.
