Hotel U Berounky

The outdoor tables by the river are lovely, and the Czech daily meals are tasty and fairly affordable. Everything we had was excellent quality, with great service. The grilovaní kozí sýr, kachní rolada s nádivkou, and sweet rakvičky are worth trying. One of the few Czech restaurants where the food really feels worth the price.

We found this lovely little restaurant in Srbsko after a backpacking trip. Eating outside by the river and watching the trains go past was great, and the food was very good. At $17 for three courses, it was really cheap, even for college students. I’d gladly have paid more for the view, kind service, and quality of the meal. Just know that only one waiter speaks English, and they can mostly translate the menu. It’d help to learn a little basic Czech before you visit.

We only stopped in for refreshments on our way to the woods and didn’t stay at the hotel. The dining room was clean and cozy, the service was nice, and there’s pleasant outdoor seating for warm weather. I wasn’t happy that there was no warm water in the restrooms to wash my hands.

I’d go outside the summer season if you can, since it gets crowded around lunchtime pretty quickly all summer. The food is authentic local cuisine, with good prices and a great view from the terrace.
