The owners were pleasant and the place was clean, which is why I gave it two stars. Beyond that, the condition felt like an emergency: very old towels, a musty restaurant, banana boxes in the hallways and old carpets folded up there. These don’t seem like costly things to fix. A coat of paint, fresh towels and new shower heads would help. Breakfast was a glass of fruit tea, very low-grade salami and cucumber sliced so thin it was almost transparent. There were eggs with dumplings!! I travel all around the Czech Republic, and I’ve found much nicer places for a similar price.

We’re not especially demanding, but a room with a worn, dirty carpet, cobwebs in the bathroom, moldy plastic curtains and heavy retro beds is outrageous these days. The house was full of Ukrainians, beer bottles were lying in the hallway, and there was a mess outside around the building too. It’s unbelievable that the owner charges such a high price for a room like this. Never again!!!

The rooms are large, but for the high price the quality is very low. A room for five had old daybeds, two pushed together, a pair of conference tables, one wardrobe and one plastic chair. The kitchen was completely unequipped. There wasn’t even a place to attach the shower head, and it was cold in the morning. On our departure day, the restaurant was only 16°C. Breakfast cost 90 CZK and offered salami, cheese, butter, rolls, two jams, black or fruit tea, and sometimes milk. Cereal was always available, and we had scrambled eggs once. They made cocoa when asked. Dinner came with a choice of two dishes, though sometimes it was leftovers from the day before. The people at the guesthouse are nice, but for all that money they provide little beyond a roof over your head. You have to ask for everything.
