If you're not expecting much, this place works well. It has the essentials, including a fully equipped kitchen, toilets and a shower, and I was especially pleased with the mattresses. The nature around it is beautiful. A good fit for an Apalucha-style outing or a get-together with friends.

There's room for a big crowd here, with plenty of bedrooms, a grill, outdoor tables, a kitchenette, a shower and two toilets. It's a party cottage rather than a luxurious stay, but it has what you need. They've added internet and TV over the last two years. The water is five minutes away, and the cottage is in the forest, so you won't bother anyone.

We had a dad-and-kids holiday here. The dam and the lovely surroundings were a real plus, and the cottage suits larger groups that don't need much fuss.

Thirty years on, and it's still a lovely place. I'd recommend it.

It's right here, Mr. Mark, with that laugh of yours.
