Wonderful.

The place has loads of potential, and the natural setting is sensational. It looks like it's been around a while, with signs of wear and some ranch corners starting to feel neglected. The common rooms also seem old-fashioned next to the apartments. Our lake apartment bed was badly worn, and some sort of puddle nearby sent a strong smell into the apartment. The biggest drag was the waiter, an older man with glasses who seemed artificial. He was often nowhere to be found, making it feel like a huge effort just to order a beer. The beer was absolutely crazy. He had two or three fans on by default, then finished them. When asked to stay available at the bar, he went around pestering everyone to have his fan even while their pint glasses were still full. He kept making stupid jokes, even when guests were clearly ignoring him. They should either replace him or explain what working in hospitality is supposed to look like.

We only spent a weekend at the ranch, but we'll probably come back for longer. The surroundings are beautiful, there are horseback rides, and the owners and staff are pleasant. The accommodation was suitable, and you can pay by card.
