The attic apartment worked really well for our group of friends, especially with its view over the garden. We’d hoped to find an inexpensive place for one night in České Budějovice, and came across Penzion Hortenzie almost by chance. It’s a small, peaceful guesthouse out in the countryside, just beyond Budějovice. We got the last room available, which made us think it must be popular. The hostess was so welcoming, and we were very happy with our stay. Next time we’d like to stay longer and spend more time enjoying the place and the area. It seems well suited to families with children or groups of friends. I’d happily recommend it.

The rooms were clean, the owner was lovely, and breakfast was both delicious and reasonably priced. You’ll need a car to get around and see the area. The bus for České Budějovice left from the next village, about a 1.5 km walk away. I definitely recommend staying here!

The owner was pleasant and great to deal with, though payment had to be in cash. The accommodation is simple but clean and well cared for, and its location is handy for České Budějice, Třeboň and Hluboka. Our triple room felt cramped even for two adults and our small, one-year-old child. I’d also expected a private kitchenette from the room description, but it turned out to be shared with the other rooms.

The breakfast was great! The guesthouse is on the quiet edge of České Budějovice, and the owner is friendly and always smiling. It’s handy for a bit of culture or cycling, and makes a great base for motorcycle trips around J. Č.

Everything was clean and cozy, and our room was spacious and very well equipped. It’s a really lovely guesthouse, with a kind, helpful owner. There’s space to sit outside, parking, and nearby places to go for a walk. You can’t pay by bank card, but we were completely satisfied and can recommend it wholeheartedly.
