Hotel Britz

There was a musty smell through the hotel, and it felt gloomy and dingy in person, nothing like the online photos. Dog hair was everywhere, even in the rooms and beds, so this place is definitely unsuitable for anyone allergic to it. The restaurant chairs and sofa were dirty with hair too. The restaurant only serves pizza, and I didn't dare order any because of the hygiene issues. Our four-bed room didn't have enough kitchenware: just three dinner plates, one soup plate, and three glasses. The kitchen items were very small and not properly washed. The towels and dish sponges looked like they'd been used for weeks and had hair on them. We had to clean the toilet and shower ourselves before using them. The owner seemed nice at first, but when we raised these problems, he was rude and sent us away. I've never been escorted out of a hotel so quickly. He also couldn't give us an invoice for the accommodation. Hygiene needs attention here, and so does the tax office. I definitely don't recommend this business.

The apartment was clean and well equipped, with parking right beside the hotel. The staff were exceptionally helpful, and the place was peaceful and comfortable. It's a First Republic factory villa, carefully turned into a hotel while keeping its history and character. We visited off-season, so there were a few minor restrictions, but they didn't affect our stay. If you don't need a luxury restaurant one floor down, this place is just right.

After seeing the state of the room, we were told the accommodation wasn't suitable. The carpets were dirty and dog hair was everywhere. I only peered into the bathroom and couldn't bring myself to go in. The whole “hotel” smelled of dogs and other animals. A barefoot, dirty-looking person answered the door when we arrived. We had booked through Booking and paid in advance on 1.6.2022. I called the owner afterward, but he hung up and wouldn't communicate. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone used to a three-star hotel. It might pass as a workers' hostel.

The room was full of dog hair, and there was mold behind the bed. We had a really unpleasant weekend and would tell other guests to bring their own cleaning products. When we mentioned the problems, the owner said he'd never had such “crap” there before. Very unprofessional.
