What upset us most was the owner's direct comment to my wife, who is a Slovak citizen, that she "does not like Slovaks." It shocked us and ruined the atmosphere for the whole stay. We feel that kind of behavior is completely unacceptable nowadays. The accommodation itself may suit some people, but respect and decent treatment are essential to a pleasant stay. We're sorry we had to experience this discrimination, and hope the owner understands how inappropriate her behavior was. I'm sharing what happened so other guests can have an objective picture before booking.

There are several ski options nearby: the Bubakov/Herlikovice slope and a ski rental, plus Ski Resort Kněžický about 4 km towards Vrchlabi. A five-minute walk in that direction takes you to Pivovarská bašta for a good meal and locally brewed beer. At the house, parking is right outside and there's a ski room for storing and drying boots and skis. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The interior and rooms, including the bathroom, were clean and well kept, and the kitchen was fully equipped. Great place!

The Bubakov ski lift is nearby, and the shop in the center is about 5 km away. Parking is right under the house, and there's a heated ski room for drying boots. Inside it's warm and cozy, with a fully equipped kitchen. CLEAN! The owner is friendly and helpful.
