Penzion Uno

We were there for a two-week holiday in October 2008, and Hana gave us excellent service. Breakfast was wonderful, and we found the town fascinating. Several good restaurants were within walking distance, and we still wish we could eat at them back home. The local cabs were friendly and quick. It felt like a home away from home, and we highly recommend it :o)

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and breakfast was fabulous. My room was cosy and beautiful, with a very comfortable bed and hot water that had good pressure. I was thoroughly impressed with my recent stay and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a wonderful stay.

The food at restaurant UNO is delicious, and the prices are low compared with places that charge separately for side dishes, dressing, and similar extras. There are vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, and the staff are open to small changes to a dish to suit what you need. Service is great, and there’s a lovely interior and terrace. There’s also a large separate hall for conferences, weddings, and all kinds of celebrations. For me, it’s the best restaurant in Zlín. If you visit the city and don’t eat at restaurant UNO, it’s like you were never here.

Hannah and Chesmire went out of their way to make our long, emotional IVF stay feel comforting. When my husband got stuck in Frankfurt, they even helped arrange a car to Zlin on their day off. They were glad to help with rides, directions, and day trip advice. We spent 21 days at Penzion Uno in Zlin, Czech Republic, and had a wonderful experience. Our spacious room had a balcony with a great view, a kitchen stocked for cooking dinner, and a lounge area. It wasn’t modern, but the service was unparalleled. They cleaned our room every day, even when we were gone for less than 30 minutes for breakfast. Breakfast was made to order and delicious. The restaurant is closed for dinner on Sundays, but the food is great. I especially liked the pork tenderloin and gnocchi. Downtown is about a mile away, an easy enough walk even in winter, and the grocery store is about a 10-minute walk. It felt like home, and you won’t be disappointed.
