The shared facilities are a big problem: there's one toilet and one shower for around six or seven rooms, and you can hear everything through the door, so there's no privacy. Breakfast was below average, too. Room no. 1 had a creaky bed and a yellowed foam mattress that stuck out. The other mattress was badly misshapen and pressed into my back. There was a nasty spill stain on the wall, the floor hadn't been swept, and the window was broken. Worst of all, the bedding seemed unwashed or poorly washed and smelled of sweat, cigarette smoke, alcohol, and damp. It was completely inadequate and overpriced. You have to collect the keys from a restaurant 200 m away, apparently because the owner doesn't want to be there when angry guests might want to harm him. The entrance beside the apartment is used by a very dubious and unadaptable individual. I could hear other angry guests calling out to the operator. Never again.

We had dinner at an Italian restaurant about 700 m away, and that meal was good. The guesthouse restaurant wasn't operating. Breakfast at the guesthouse was identical both days: two kinds of hard cheese, one dry salami, butter, spreadable cheese, pate, jam, honey, sponge cake, and crisps. Half the sponge cake was left from the previous day, so we got the other half on day two. The old guesthouse is past its glory days and needs renovation. There's one toilet and one shower on the floor for about 12 people. Our simply furnished room had a torn curtain rail and missing floorboards in places. It was presented as an apartment for two couples, but there was no door between the bedrooms. It was the only room with its own bathroom. In the next room, I think No. 1, the mattress didn't fit the double bed and had a dent, so sleeping comfortably seemed unlikely. The price didn't match the accommodation at all. We looked for the guesthouse keys at about four restaurants in the area, and the only way to contact the owner was by phone.

We had to end our stay after one night and literally run away. The street is Znojmo's main nighttime route for all kinds of drunks, with heavy road traffic and two fast food places under the windows open until 4:00. There's also a house opposite for the unadaptable. The guesthouse is in the Bronx of Znojmo, and definitely isn't suitable for a quiet stay or for children as the owner claims. That description feels like a mockery and an insult. Our neighbors were just as fed up as we were. I suspect the owner writes all the positive reviews himself. There was just one toilet for the whole guesthouse, and it didn't work during our stay. Any complaint or claim is pointless because the owner doesn't communicate or respond. I absolutely don't recommend this place. Go to Wenceslas Square instead, where you'll get more peace and better hygiene. Too bad the rating can't be minus ten stars.

The facilities barely work and feel worse than during communism. Our room smelled musty, and the mattress was bigger than the bed, so I ended up lying on my back. On the whole floor, there was just one toilet and one shower, and there wasn't even a key, leaving us worried someone might break in. Inside the guesthouse there was constant shouting and banging on doors. People from the local Roma community kept scolding us from the street below the windows. For this mess, they still charge outrageous prices. I'm surprised the hygiene department hasn't closed it down already, and maybe they should. The worst guesthouse I've ever experienced. I'd give Ninus 10 stars if I could. Never again!
