Relais Königsberg

The hotel is in a remote area, but there’s plenty of nature around for walks and drives. The price feels right for what you get. Rooms are clean and spacious enough, the owner is friendly and happy to chat, and he let us keep our motorcycles in a nice, dry garage. Dinner and breakfast are both served and good quality.

Dinner was really good and fairly priced. The cook was away on holiday, so the owner's wife prepared it for us. Our room got lots of sunlight and had a lovely view, with a big, comfortable king-size bed, though the pillows were too flat for me. The curtains made it properly dark at night, and we couldn't hear other guests. The bedroom and bathroom heaters were powerful enough to make things feel like a sauna if you wanted.

We had two lovely days here, with a real village feel and a beautiful forest close by. It was a great base for a weekend, and getting to Aachen or Monschau was convenient by bus. There's free parking, and breakfast was quite good. The owner kindly put us in a room facing the valley and forest, away from the road noise. The room was good, with a very large, soft bed. A peaceful spot for anyone who enjoys nature and being away from the cities.

The room was cold and noisy. Passing cars were easy to hear, and at night their lights came through the thin, see-through curtain straight into the window. The bathroom was so cold I couldn't shower comfortably. The towels and pillows didn't feel fresh either. There was no Wi-Fi in the room, and breakfast was poor, just salami and some cheap cheese.
