It’s a self-service place, just so you know. The schnitzel with pepper sauce was very good: quite tender, with no unpleasant texture surprises. The sauce was perfectly peppery, which I hadn’t expected, and the fries and salad were decent too. I liked it, though it wasn’t the best I’ve ever had. The pizza, on the other hand, was a 2/5 and I wouldn’t recommend it.

The schnitzel was probably one of the best I’ve tried. Its texture was spot on, the fries were really tasty, and the salad went well with it. The price was pretty good for the portion size.

The salad was a nice excuse to feel a bit better about finishing everything else, and the fries were crisp and especially good with the cream sauce. My Schnitzel Jäger Art with Cream Sauce and Mushrooms had the crunchy outside and moist middle I’d hoped for on my first trip to Germany. I ordered at the outdoor counter around 3pm on October 11, and it was ready in about ten minutes. On a Monday afternoon the outdoor table was quiet and airy, with lovely greenery and my car in view. It’s reassuring to spot a clover on the way to the Nürburgring. I’ll be back on my next pilgrimage to the area.

For at least ten years now, we’ve stopped here on our ring weekends. The schnitzel is good, the price is fair, and there’s hardly any wait. Nothing fancy, just very good.

The service was quick and attentive at this lovely rustic restaurant. I tried the Schnitzel “Milano” and was pleasantly surprised. I’d definitely return.
