Hotel Pension Café Hasler

We were treated very kindly by the staff, and the terrace overlooking the lake is hard to beat. The hotel sits by the water and has its own access through a lovely garden with an old pear tree. The restaurant serves a superb breakfast buffet, lunch, coffee and cake from its own pastry shop, and dinner. It’s a good idea to reserve a table. The rooms are simple, and some bathrooms have been renovated, but everything is very clean.

Our balcony looked out over the lake, and the room’s location was fantastic. The mattresses were soft, but we slept well. Service and food were very good, and the staff were super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was simple. The bathroom was the letdown. The shower curtain had black edges, which I found unacceptable.

The food was very good, and the service staff were too. The hotel’s organization, though, was abysmal. As a guest, I wasn’t given a table that had been reserved for dinner, and breakfast starts very late, even on weekdays. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel for cyclists or tourists.

I still got a room even though my booking hadn’t reached the host. He was very kind, and everything went perfectly. A lovely hotel by the lake.
