SV Hütte is a charming place, and the people are lovely. There are fantastic family hiking trails right from the house, and it's especially good with a dog. It's very quiet despite being in a residential area. There was construction going on while we were there, but we didn't notice any of it. For cooking, though, bring a box of kitchen supplies: toilet paper, bin bags, a medium pot, a large bowl and a measuring cup. You'll love the place if you come prepared. We took one star off because of the condition when we arrived. We'll be back!

The living room was the nicest part, with a lovely view. We found the rest less appealing, and the place felt a bit musty and dusty. It's definitely too small for two families.

We've been here four times now, including the last two stays since the change of ownership, and we're already planning to return. We love the furnishings and the atmosphere. From the living room, the view over Altenau is beautiful even when it rains, while on sunny days we spend ages out on the terrace. We've often ended up staying there all day. Until next time, we'll be dreaming about that view.

We really enjoyed staying at the "Zur Tanne" house. Everything was clean and worked properly, and there was coffee, which matters a lot, plus Wi-Fi. The furniture wasn't new, but it suited the "Harz" feel perfectly. The price was more than fair for what we got. A very pleasant stay, and we'll definitely come back.

The cleanliness could have been much better, and some furniture was damaged or worn. We also had to put together the extras ourselves, since the crib and high chair hadn't been prepared for us.
