Altenmedinger Hof

It’s a family-run hotel, and the family were very welcoming and friendly. The place was clean and nice, and had all the accessories we needed. Breakfast was excellent. I’d stay here again.

I slept really well in the super comfortable bed, and the owner clearly pays close attention to keeping the house tidy. I had a very pleasant stay. The shared toilets and showers were fine for me since Booking.com described them clearly, so I don’t understand the complaints about that. It worked well for a short stop, and I’d recommend it.

The shared bathroom and toilet were the main drawback. I wish I’d been in a room next to my friends so we could share a bathroom, which would also have worked better for the guests in the adjoining room. In the bathroom and toilet assigned to me, several bottles of shower gel were left in the shower, making it hard to use. I was glad I at least had a sink in my room for the two nights. There also wasn’t a power outlet beside the bed. Without my own power strip, I couldn’t have used the small lamp as a bedside light. On the positive side, the owners were very nice and friendly, breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and the mattresses were good, so we slept well. Bringing our huskies was no problem. I was there with a family of friends, their two children aged 2 and 5, and six huskies in total. The children were welcome too.

The hosts were helpful and very friendly, and the beds were comfortable. There’s no private bathroom, but the rooms are very affordable compared with other hotels. We’d be happy to return.
