Hotel Schwansee

Breakfast was great, especially the freshly made eggs, which was a nice change from other places. Our standard room had a window view of Neuschwanstein, and the host was kind and very helpful. The place has a lovely character. It’s an easy, pleasant 18-minute walk to the castle ticket center, or about a three-minute drive. A beautiful lake and castle view is just an eight-minute walk away.

The room was small but plenty big for me and my partner, with a spotless bathroom and a nice roomy shower. Breakfast was delicious, with meats, cheeses, fresh bread, jam, cereal, and cooked eggs if you wanted them. We stayed two nights and really enjoyed our visit to schwangu. Our host greeted us warmly, explained how everything worked, and suggested attractions to see. He also pointed us toward town for dinner and gave us free bus cards. There’s parking on site. A lovely place to stay, I’d recommend it.

Even with temperatures around 30 degrees, we stayed comfortable by opening the window and letting in the cool mountain air. There’s no air conditioning, but that worked perfectly. The room was small, though that didn’t bother us, and it was spotless, with a good-sized shower and towels provided. Breakfast from 0730 to 0930 had bread, meats, cheese, jam, cereal, juice, and tea and coffee, plus eggs cooked how you like. The landlord gave us a warm welcome, spoke excellent English, told us about local attractions, and handed us discount cards before showing us the room. The inn is well placed between Füssen and Hohenschwangau Castle, and parking is available on site. We thought it was brilliant and would stay again.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was handy for the castles and for going to Füssen for dinner and drinks. The manager came across as a bit rude at first and didn’t acknowledge us when we arrived. After some German guests came in, he seemed to warm up a little.
