I booked one single room and another room at 6 in the morning, and asked about a late checkout because we'd booked so late. The woman at check-in was incredibly rude, rolling her eyes and acting unprofessionally despite my being friendly and polite. She said late checkout would cost another 34 euros. I paid, but breakfast wasn't included. For half a day, the two rooms cost almost 250 euros. The rooms were old and smelled bad, the toilets were stained, and there were no coffee machines or useful amenities. I've stayed in many cities and countries and never had a worse experience. The hotel might have been fine if the customer service had been there, but it wasn't.

The location was good, and there were lots of amenities around the property. It was clean, and the receptionists were helpful and friendly. A big bonus was that they spoke English. I even saw a bag carrier from this hotel at the Deutsche Museum! Thank you from Canada 🇨🇦

My room was dirty, with insects, and the woman at the check-in desk was extremely rude. I found a small moth when I went in, then spotted a ladybug on the wall. The carpet was dirty as well. The next day I asked the desk if I could change rooms. The woman said, “What? You want to change the room just because of the bug(s)?” and told me all the rooms were booked. After that, I found a big wasp near the window in my room. Update: the website still showed rooms available an hour after the incident.

I spent two weeks at AAAA Hotelwelt GmbH on a business trip in Karlsruhe. The antique style gives the hotel some character, and its location is handy. Several food options, including halal Turkish restaurants, and supermarkets are within walking distance. Parking in the paid underground garage was practical, and the prices were quite reasonable for the value. The rooms are old-fashioned and weren't fully clean. Housekeeping could do a better job getting rooms ready for new guests. There were no dark curtains, so sunlight woke me early, and I found the lack of a minibar, fridge, or coffee service disappointing. At least a mini fridge would've been useful. With those drawbacks in amenities and cleanliness, it's still a decent stay for the price.
