We ended up here at the last minute after a bad stay at another hotel, and my kids and I loved the creative, original rooms. The cozy, welcoming place has an alternative, hipster feel. Breakfast was good, though a little expensive for what you get, so I'd bring the price down a bit.

We stayed in a spacious Double Room (Doppelbude) with everything we needed, and once I settled in, the bed was heavenly. The simple design is lovely, and my experience at Superbude St. Georg was very positive. Website check-in was easy and felt good for privacy; the desk staff we met were cheerful and mega friendly. The city center and Central Station are walkable, though the immediate area isn't especially interesting. Sound was the weak point. Our room faced a busy road, a car dealer, and train tracks. The view didn't bother me, but traffic was loud enough that I had to get earplugs halfway through the night. We were also next to the stairwell and heard people coming and going, though noise from other rooms wasn't much of an issue. It's a great stay with a cool vibe, but light sleepers should keep the noise in mind.

The room was spacious, and we liked the view of the train lines and the high-rises behind them. It could make a good canvas print. Surprisingly, the trains weren't too loud, even though they run around the clock on weekends. The radiators warmed up quickly and quietly, and in winter you can switch them off fully, unlike in hotels where the heat can't be turned down. Summer might be a different story, since there's no AC. We loved the quirky, eccentric, grungy style and all the thought in the cozy lobby. In warmer months there's also an outdoor area to relax in. Getting to Berliner Tor U Bahn is handy, and you can walk to the docks, including for a visit to miniature Wunderland. A few things made the stay harder. The lift had failed an inspection and was out of service the whole time, with no word on when it might be back. Climbing to the fourth floor after a day of sightseeing was exhausting, and it would be even worse for guests on the fifth or sixth. Weekend road noise wasn't too bad, but from about 4 a.m. Monday the heavy trucks were brutal, crashing over the bumpy road left by construction. Emergency services also kept their sirens on at night. On weekdays, I'd try for a room at the back. There's very little around the hotel, not even shops apart from the petrol station if it's open for browsing, so stock up on food, drinks, and whatever else you need before returning. I enjoyed the pizza from the vending machine. Annoyingly, though, the box and crust leftovers were still in our room after it was cleaned on the second day of our four-night stay.

It sits somewhere between a hostel and a hotel, and I thought it was terrific. The rooms were clean and well equipped, and the breakfast buffet was very good. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Just be aware that lots of young families stay here, so breakfast early in the morning can get noisy. It didn't bother me, but some friends minded it.

The reception team made us and our little girl feel at home, and I'm especially grateful for their kindness and help. The place is full of thoughtful details, very stylish, and the common areas deserve a special mention. Our room was quiet, spotless, and simply but very well equipped. Bikes are available to rent there, and the metro station nearby connects to the city center and airport on a direct line. My father-in-law had his birthday during our stay and found a lovely handwritten birthday card in Spanish on his door, along with two complimentary drinks. Reception always had someone smiling, ready to help at any hour, with real kindness and efficiency. We give it five stars, but it deserves six!
