Good service, and the people were friendly.

The food was excellent, and the service was genuinely friendly at our family celebration in the lovely Austrian-style restaurant. Warm wood accents run throughout the building, which is a feast for the eyes. We felt at home right away, and David and Katja were wonderful hosts. Thanks to them for their hospitality. We’d happily come back. The hotel reopened in January 2026 after a complete renovation and sits in a beautiful, scenic area. It’s a lovely country hotel for relaxing, hiking, and cycling. It’s near the Draisinenradweg and has good connections to the Werra Valley Cycle Path and the Unstrut Cycle Path, which you can reach easily via the beautiful old Anrode Monastery. We’d highly recommend it.

The building is lovely to look at, and we had a sensational big celebration at the “new” hotel yesterday. Everything from the food to the service was a solid 5+.

Our room was clean, but very cold, and there was noise at night. The owner came across as very unfriendly and arrogant.

A superb host and a fantastic new hotel with Alpine flair. Definitely recommend it.
