My younger siblings and I had such a good time in this lovely house. The older couple staying there were very kind and helpful. We'll come back next year! 😀

The owners were really sweet and helpful, and even told us when they'd charged us the wrong amount for electricity instead of just keeping the extra money. The cabin itself is lovely, tucked away in a beautiful quiet spot with a lake just around the corner. I'm happy with everything.

We've stayed here twice with a few colleagues, and we're already planning to come back again. It's such a peaceful, idyllic place from the moment you arrive, with forest right beside it and Lake Arendsee only a two-minute walk away. Great spot to switch off. The owners always gave us a warm welcome and were happy to help whenever we had a question. The accommodation is cozy, clean, and has everything you need. Hiring bikes worked perfectly for rides around the lake and exploring the area, where there are lots of lovely places to discover. Leaving was easy, and we always went home smiling. I'd happily recommend Neptum Ranch to anyone who enjoys nature or wants to relax, and I'd love to return again and again!

Short version: the accommodation and grounds were okay, but the atmosphere and hosts were bad. I wouldn't recommend it. We'd looked forward to a week in the holiday house. There was confusion about which house was ours when we arrived, then the right one smelled musty, so we aired it out. The promised Wi-Fi didn't work for most of the week. The TV had no sound, though we didn't really need it. The weather was cool, so the house didn't get too hot, but that can apparently happen here. Tourists from town use the bike rental on the property, which meant constant daily disturbance for the guests. Those things might have been tolerable. What made the stay unbearable was the retired couple acting as caretakers and living on site. Having caretakers there could be a plus, and we tried to get along, even offering to bring fish from the local fisherman, but they didn't return the effort. They seemed to keep watching the grounds for things to criticize. They told us where to park, for no clear reason. We couldn't put a seat cushion on the balcony, even though it was cleaner than the bench it had been on. When I explained that, the woman said, “We might as well leave.” Our child wasn't allowed to sit on the dragon go-kart in case it broke. They checked whether the pots were clean and whether the parasol was opened properly. Having guests over for coffee was difficult and clearly unwelcome. They couldn't stay longer than three hours without paying €3, because, we were told, visitors use water when they go to the toilet. We also mentioned that we'd accidentally broken a simple plate, and were charged €5 for it. We paid electricity at €0.40/kWh as well. Given that the stay cost us almost €1,000, a kind gesture over the broken plate would have been appreciated. We were glad we hadn't booked longer, and want to warn others away.
