My favorite hotel.

I came as a guest to a wedding, and as someone who really is from Aschersleben, I can say the event was first-rate. The setting felt one of a kind, the reception buffet was delicious, and the boutique hotel rooms were clean, original, and tastefully done, with huge flat-screen TVs and Wi-Fi. The team was very friendly and spoke three languages. Everything was great. At breakfast, I had time to browse five volumes of the guestbook. The lovely things guests had written and drawn in them amazed me. Some notable people had stayed there too, including a coffee plantation owner from Costa Rica with roots in Aschersleben. With all of that in mind, I can't believe what you're writing. It seems like you must be trying to damage the hotel for some reason.

The hotel and its garden made a beautiful setting for the outdoor ceremony and evening celebration we attended on June 28, 2025. The venue itself looks great, but the service was a mess. The couple had arranged an outdoor ceremony with staff a year ahead of time, and the owner had agreed to it. Yet the day before the wedding, they were told nobody would be there to help, and suddenly no one seemed to remember the arrangement. The couple had to set up a champagne reception at short notice and pay for it themselves. Although the ceremony was at 2:30 PM, staff didn't turn up until 5:00 PM, despite what had been agreed. Things went badly again in the evening. While the bride and groom were speaking, staff helped themselves to the candy bar the couple had paid for, filled the available bags, and stashed them behind the bar. They also began eating from the evening buffet while guests were still eating. When the bride's mother said they could eat after the guests had finished, they answered rudely, then went back for more. Absolutely disrespectful. Desserts for dinner hadn't been put out by the time the cake was cut around 10 p.m. One server took dessert three times and then hid three very full dinner plates behind the bar. The rest of the buffet was visibly being packed into Tupperware containers. By the end of the night, the bartender looked more drunk than most of the guests and kept making alcoholic drinks while on duty. The owner also seemed drunk when mingling with wedding guests later on. It's a lovely place with attractive grounds for a celebration, but service and customer friendliness deserve negative stars. If you're planning an event, find somewhere else with good service.

The unheated outdoor pool may or may not appeal at the end of September, depending on your preference. For a short stay, though, I found the hotel solid. I liked the decor and atmosphere, and there was a good breakfast selection. A few things need attention: there was no shampoo in the bathroom, and the hot and cold symbols at the sink were switched around. At breakfast, the fruit basket had moldy peaches, and the cappuccino machine had curdled milk.
