ibis budget München Ost Messe

The staff were friendly and the accommodation was clean. I would have liked a hair dryer in the room, and a mini fridge for things that need to stay cold. I knew it was outside the city center, but hadn't realized how expensive train tickets had become. If I'd known the daily commute cost, I might have reconsidered the location. Otherwise, it's a quiet spot with the train only a few minutes' walk away.

It was a nice hotel, but the boiled eggs at breakfast seemed to get staler as our stay went on. On December 24th we accidentally ate one that was slightly rotten, and the whole family had diarrhea on Christmas Day. The eggs on the 25th were still rotten too.

The hotel was modern yet simple, and good for the price. I booked online and paid when I arrived, which was convenient. The room was clean and thoughtfully laid out, with a contemporary minimalist style, and the bathroom was spotless. Service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay. One small issue: the baby bed didn't come with a pillow. Reception couldn't provide one because they had limited stock, but luckily we'd brought a travel pillow in the car and managed to solve it ourselves, haha. I think little improvements like this could make the stay even better. There's also an Indian restaurant right next to the hotel, which was a great bonus.

The public transport connections were a big plus for us since we didn't have a car. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of variety and a calm atmosphere. A good coffee and a full plate made even the rainy days brighter. The beds were extremely comfortable, and we slept really well. Rooms are small, but functional and just right for a good rest after a day in the city. We stayed four nights and had a great time. At reception we got a warm welcome from a friendly receptionist, which made the arrival feel pleasant right away. It was also really important to us that the hotel allows pets, since we were travelling with our cat. For the first three days I kept housekeeping out because we'd made a bit of a mess, read: fur festival. On the fourth day I asked them just to clean the floor and take out the trash. When I came back, everything was spotless and even the bed linen had been changed. Huge compliments for the effort, we were impressed. I joked that maybe after us they wouldn't be pet friendly anymore. We'd love to come back, if we're still welcome after all that chaos and cat hair.
