Hotel Zur Krone

On our way to Italy, we’ve made this hotel part of our annual trip for three years now. We love the friendly staff and outstanding service. It’s a great place to spend a night, or a few.

Over the years, our company has sent hundreds of guests here, from around the world, and we’ve never heard a negative comment. Guests have enjoyed their stays and asked to return to the same hotel. I know the staff personally and can vouch for how professional and friendly they are. If you need something, they’ll get it for you. I’ve had breakfast there myself. There’s plenty to choose from, the bread is great, and the atmosphere is cozy. The rooms I saw in the garden area were spacious, clean, and really lovely. The garden is well kept, too.

I was so grateful for the help I got at Hotel zur Krone. Early on a quiet Sunday morning, I was looking for something as simple as paracetamol because my travel partner had spent the whole night groaning with a terrible migraine. It had been a night from hell. The reception at the hotel where we were staying, The Taste Style Hotel Bären Auggen, had no painkillers and made no effort to help. A woman at breakfast checked her own purse, but didn’t have any either. I walked to the gas station, which was open but didn’t sell medicine, then wandered through the sleeping little town. When I passed Hotel zur Krone, I saw people active in the breakfast area and went in to explain what had happened. A kind woman found some pain medicine in a basket and gave me two tablets, even though I wasn’t a guest. She didn’t charge me. Those two tablets meant a lot, and I wanted to share how caring that was.

A tiny family-run hotel with a quirky, very German feel. It was neat and clean, breakfast was good, and the garden in the middle was beautiful.
