Altkölnischer Hof

The restaurant was the best in Bacharach, and the hotel was one of our favorite stops on our European trip. My wife and I spent three glorious days here in an apartment down the street from the main building. It was immaculate and modern, and our deck had amazing views of the town and castle. We’d return anytime.

This was the standout of our long, winding trip through Germany, by a wide margin. The apartments are spacious, clean, and even nicer in person than in the photos, with beautiful views. Staff were really helpful, and it was easy to get anything we needed on site, including extra towels. The location is perfect for exploring the area. Can’t recommend it enough!

Breakfast had everything I needed before a busy day sightseeing along the Rhine, and the staff were super friendly and supportive. Our third-floor double room was quiet and very spacious, with a balcony. The hotel is right in the center of Bacharach and has its own parking. The electric vehicle charging station was a nice feature too, reasonably priced and easy to use.

We liked our five days in Bacharach and would gladly stay at the hotel again. We were in the “Noir” apartment, which was very large and well kept. One night, the people above us sounded like a herd of buffalo, so I needed earplugs, but they left the next day and it was quiet after that. The apartment building is separate from the main hotel, about 100 meters away beside the hotel parking lot. That wasn’t much of an issue for us. There’s no maid service, so everything is self-service, but the supply area in the building was well maintained and stocked with towels, trash bags, cleaning cloths, soap, and other things we might need. The staff were very helpful and quickly dealt with any concerns. We only managed breakfast twice because of early tours, but it’s highly recommended, with a wide selection to suit different tastes. We didn’t eat dinner there, so I can’t speak to the restaurant menu. Keep in mind there’s no elevator, so guests on the top floor have to carry their bags up several flights of stairs.
