We found plenty of restaurants nearby in the old town, and the location was great. The four of us were on a cycling holiday, and the hotel let us keep our bikes safely in the bar, which wasn’t being used. It’s currently running as a bed and breakfast, with self check-in: a code comes by email and you pick up the key from a box outside the door. The rooms were clean, in good condition, and well maintained. Breakfast was very good and the staff were helpful. It felt a little odd not to be welcomed on arrival, though the self-service setup worked.

The owners take real care with the breakfast buffet and are always ready to help with requests. There’s separate storage for bikes, too. It’s a small, well-located hotel on a street that stays surprisingly cool on hot days. Highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Zur Post with my wife and our two young children. The rooms were huge, with plenty of space and very comfortable beds. It’s right in the center, close to the best sights and restaurants. I’d highly recommend it if you’re visiting Bacharach.

The people were very nice, and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet. They let us leave our bikes in the reception area overnight. There’s no lift, just stairs.

It was a good fit for the three of us, though this is a family-run place without anything fancy. The room was clean and had enough supplies, and we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in the town center, very close to the train station and to a lovely ice cream shop recommended by Rick Steves. With the windows open, you can hear trains going by, but it didn’t bother us.
