Breakfast is a real highlight, with a great selection and a lovely restaurant where you can relax. The whole place was spotless, especially the rooms, which were excellent in every respect. It’s in a quiet part of town, but you can walk to the centre. Highly recommended.

The hotel was being renovated while I was there to visit friends, but it didn’t bother me. You could only tell the workers were around from the skips beside the hotel. My room had just been finished, with a very comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Breakfast was fresh and lovely, and the staff were helpful and gave me useful information about what to see and do in the area.

A handy stop near the motorway, in a quaint setting. My room was spacious and immaculately clean. The receptionist was very friendly, polite, and helpful, and breakfast was excellent with equally friendly service.

4/10
The bed was comfortable and breakfast was lovely, but I barely slept. It was 33C outside and very warm in the room; when we asked for a fan, there wasn’t one available. The shower was over the bath, and without a bath mat it was very slippery. The room information was only in German, and the TV had just three channels, all German.

Everything was clean and well maintained, and we had a pleasant, quiet room with an excellent breakfast. Bentheim Castle is about a 10-minute walk away. Just be aware that the restaurant is closed on Sundays.
