The food was reasonably priced for the quality and portions, and it didn’t disappoint. The park is beautiful, I really like the house designs, and staying here includes free swimming at the pool in front of the entrance. Check its opening hours before you go, since sometimes it’s only open until 1 pm / 13:00. It’s also a plus that lots of staff speak more than one language. My German isn’t very good, so I was glad there were Dutch people working here, so close to the border. The park seems great for kids, with lots of playgrounds, but from what I saw walking around there wasn’t much for older teens like me. In the house, the nightstand in my bedroom wobbled, and the place my family and I stayed wasn’t cleaned all that well, though I’ve seen worse. The thing that bothered me most was that there were no trash cans in the toilets. I didn’t like having to walk back and forth or hang up open bags for rubbish. I only saw bins in the bathroom and living room. Some of the little fixes around the house looked rushed, like using tape to mend things. I understand there can be time pressure and maybe poor pay, but I still have to mention it. A few improvements would help, though the rest was alright.

We don’t recommend booking these houses. The owners charged us twice and then sent invoices asking for payment. We’d cleaned the house thoroughly when moving out, but were still charged an extra 115 euros because the windows hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly enough. Apparently, you have to wash the windows after your stay too.

It’s a quiet, relaxed place to stay with the kids, with lots of houses across a spacious site. We could park right in front of our house. Roompot guests get free access to the swimming pool just outside the gates, which has a big slide, several pools, a little river, and a kids’ play area. There’s plenty for children around the park too, including cool playgrounds, a bowling area, restaurant, shop, and a large indoor play and entertainment space. The daily entertainment program was really fun. We had a six-person cabin with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs, plus another bedroom with a shower downstairs. That worked well for a family of four with grandparents visiting. The house was well equipped and spacious, and the beds were nice. One downside is that lots of the games in the kids’ play area, including video games, cost € 1 or more each time. Of course the kids want to play, which usually leads to discussions with parents. Why not add € 5 per night and let them play free, with some game consoles too?
