Tonino

There was quite a bit of street noise at night, right through until early morning. The room and breakfast were basic, so the hotel didn’t offer much value for the price. We booked through Booking.com, where the listing said pets were allowed, and emailed ahead to confirm we’d be bringing our dog. But when we arrived, the reception staff were very rude and told us dogs weren’t welcome. After a long, unpleasant discussion, we were eventually given a room. We would have left immediately if we’d had another option.

After a long journey, this was a lovely place to stop. We’ve stayed at Tonino twice now. The room was spacious, the bed was large, and the shower was excellent. We enjoyed both dinner the evening before and the generous breakfast, and the team took great care of us.

We had a really nice evening, with tasty food and a good mix of music. Everything looked appealing and tasted very good. Our first server was warm and funny, though the joking got to be a little much at one point. The second was very quiet and couldn’t tell us which ice cream flavours were in the dessert.

The room was lovely and quiet, with a very comfortable bed, so we slept well. We arrived in town late, and Constantine kindly picked us up at the train station and welcomed us warmly. In the morning, a lovely Italian woman prepared a generous, delicious breakfast and helped us arrange a taxi back to the train. We were so glad to find this guesthouse and would happily recommend it.
