Hotel Am Schwanenweiher

The food and coffee were nice. The special swan looks great, but the swan itself wasn't very tasty. The ice cream was good.

It was okay.

The breakfast had plenty of variety, and the homemade cakes, pastries, and freshly prepared dinners were all delicious. We spent 15 days at Hotel Schwanenweiher with Doro and felt at ease the whole time. The staff were wonderful and the service was excellent. The hotel sits in a lovely, quiet spot by the entrance to the spa gardens. If we vacation in this area again, this is the only hotel we’d consider.

The hotel is in a really lovely location, and breakfast was good and filling. The staff member looking after us was friendly and helpful, but she was clearly stretched thin handling service mostly on her own. The room was clean, fine, and had a balcony. The beds were made after breakfast, though rather hurriedly, while the empty glasses and bottles stayed in the room for the rest of our visit. I’d booked a double room two months ahead and emailed with the owner about a bottle of sparkling wine for my husband’s birthday and a candlelit dinner at a decorated table. We arrived to a chilly welcome and were told check-in was an hour away, supposedly as stated by email, though none of the owner’s messages gave a check-in time. One had said the room was ready and we could check in later. The booking even seemed to disappear briefly, and the staff member knew nothing about either surprise. She said she’d send the wine up later, but it only arrived in the evening after we’d eaten. There was no candlelight or decorated table, and nobody brought it up again. The hotel could be worth recommending with better organization and more attention to friendliness. I’m not blaming the staff member, who was helping at check-in and check-out, breakfast, and our first dinner. I was very disappointed that the birthday surprise was forgotten.
