Parkhotel Bad Bevensen

The food is tasty and there’s plenty of it, and the hotel and rooms are very clean. The place itself is lovely for a relaxing holiday. We’ve rarely had such friendly, thoughtful, and courteous staff in Germany. We’ll definitely come back.

The location is decent and close to the Thermal Baths, but getting there from the train station means a steep walk. I wouldn’t want to drag a suitcase up that route, so it seems better suited to guests arriving by car. I chose this hotel after seeing all the positive reviews and paid two-thirds in advance, then the rest a few days before arriving. I’d booked a double room with one large bed, but at check-in they put me in a different, small two-room place with one narrow bed. When I asked about the price difference, the receptionist said the price was the same and the hotel simply decided where to put me. He also questioned why I wanted a bill and what I’d do with it. I insisted I was entitled to one, and after an argument he handed it over with €25 in change. It seemed he hadn’t planned to adjust the cost straight away. There was no apology or regret that I couldn’t have the room I booked, and it ruined my mood. He wasn’t customer-oriented at all. The room itself was cramped and uncomfortable, and the TV is on the wall so you can’t watch it lying in bed. There was at least a kettle, a couple of tea and coffee packets, and a small bottle of water. The hotel is okay, but that “friendly” receptionist makes me reluctant to return.

We spent two restful days at the thermal baths and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were attentive, the rooms clean, and the restaurant dinners delicious. We’d love to return.

The staff were very polite and helpful, and the restaurant food was excellent, although perhaps a little expensive. Breakfast and entry to the thermal baths are included in the price, which is a nice bonus. It’s a quiet, lovely area near both the spa park and baths. I was thrilled with the bright, clean room, its modern bathroom, and balcony with large windows for airing it out. Best of all, the mattress wasn’t worn out and suited me perfectly. I’d love to come back.
