Great.

The spa area looks nice, but there aren't nearly enough loungers. Service was excellent throughout our stay. At reception there was just one woman working, so we had a brief wait, but she was friendly, helpful, clear in her explanations, and very competent. The hotel is clean, though a little dated, and as others have said, it's very much set up for older spa guests.

The food itself was good, but restaurant service ranged from mediocre to unfriendly. The set menu cost €35, and tap water wasn't available, so we had to order drinks. One waitress was very unfriendly and spilled wine over my clothes. She gave a quick apology, then went to other tables, leaving us with a wet tablecloth and damp chair. We only got a dry, newly set table after complaining. The wine was comped, but only after we pushed for it. Breakfast was stressful too. Although we'd phoned in a low-gluten and lactose-free meal, gluten-free rolls took over 30 minutes on two mornings. It seems this hadn't been discussed in advance. After we complained several times, the rolls finally came on the third day. We could have done without all that hassle. Our room was clean and tidy, and the cleaning staff did a good job. But the bedside lamps were broken and there was no power to the bed frame, leaving only harsh lighting. We had to use a flashlight to get to bed safely. After several requests, floor lamps were brought in on our last evening and placed in the middle of the room, but they weren't plugged in. The room said we could request a pillow of our choice. When we asked for our preferred one, staff first asked if the next day would be soon enough. We said no, and eventually got the pillows, but the way it was handled felt inadequate. That's not good service. We had a two-night voucher and added another night, hoping for a relaxing romantic break. Instead, the price for what we got and the service both disappointed us, and we can't recommend the hotel. On arrival, the two high-rise buildings in 1970s style, joined by a corridor, made a poor first impression. We also waited several minutes to check in because reception was unattended. The three-quarter board was a letdown. The afternoon buffet had a very limited selection and mediocre quality, unlike the lovely buffets with coffee, cakes, salads, and soups we've had elsewhere. The coffee and bar area was cramped, windowless, and tastelessly decorated. The spa facilities were much smaller than we expected: a tiny thermal pool, sauna and steam room with room for only a few people, and about ten loungers. For a hotel this size calling itself a spa hotel, we expected a more extensive wellness area. The restaurant felt like a canteen or train station pub, cramped with harsh lighting and tasteless decor. Most guests seemed to be over 65, and we felt out of place and uncomfortable, with the impression we weren't welcome. When we complained, we were promised a wonderful surprise, which turned out to be a free bottle of mineral water. It wasn't a pleasant atmosphere for a getaway. The service tried, but was ineffective and mostly indifferent to downright unfriendly. Communication within the hotel seemed nonexistent. Friendly, good service is only available to people over 65 with low expectations, deep pockets, and a serious thirst. We won't be back.

We've been here four times now with Grandma and my son, and it's our favorite hotel in Bad Füssing. The beds are super comfortable and the service is friendly. Best of all, it's the only breakfast buffet we've seen that actually labels which rolls and breads are which, which is invaluable for someone like me with allergies. Already looking forward to next time.
