Haus Edelweiss

The playroom and the outdoor climbing frame were a big hit with us. The apartment at Hirsch was spotless, tastefully furnished, and had everything we could need, even a bread delivery service. From the warm welcome onward, the hospitality made us feel at home. We’d love to return and can wholeheartedly recommend staying here.

We were able to leave the car parked for almost our whole week, using it just once to go to Tannheim. Edelweiss is ideally placed for hiking, with plenty of lovely, well-kept trails. Even after heavy snow, there were groomed routes in the valley. We also enjoyed stopping at the Untere Schwande alpine pasture between Unterjoch and Oberjoch to relax and eat. The Landerers, father and son, pulled us the last 200 meters to the house with their tractor when we arrived in a snowstorm. It was a friendly, helpful welcome and a little adventure to start the trip. Mrs. Landerer was a warm, engaging, and very helpful hostess. She sells some basics for self-catering, like milk, pasta, and drinks, and there are regular shops in Oberjoch too. We really enjoyed our two-story apartment, especially the magnificent panorama towards the Tannheim Valley at any time of day. The sauna was welcome too, spacious for a house of this size, though of course it’s not a hotel, and it costs very little for guests.

Our little girl loved seeing the farm animals and playing on the great playground. We spent a wonderful week at the Landerer family's farm, in clean, child-friendly accommodation with breathtaking mountain views. They were always ready with useful tips about the area. The bread delivery and delicious homemade jam made breakfast a lovely start to every day. We couldn’t have been happier and will definitely come back! Best wishes from the S. family in Cologne :)

We were back at Familie Landerer for a second visit and felt just as comfortable as the first time. Frau Landerer is always attentive to her guests, ready to listen, and full of good suggestions for hikes and outings. The location is wonderful and made it easy to relax. The apartments and the whole property are very clean and well cared for, and the bread roll service works really well too. We’ll be back. Diana and Andreas
