Maritim Hotel Bad Homburg

The gym was a letdown: it's a small indoor room with one treadmill, one elliptical, and some weights. The pool is a reasonable size for a city hotel, but there's a lot of chlorine in the air. Bathrobes can be rented at reception for 5 Euros. The location beside the Kurpark and Kongresshalle is excellent. My room was spacious, although the furniture and style felt a bit dated. The bathroom seemed to have been renovated recently, but the pillows were really flat and disappointing. With the city centre nearby, there are better restaurants within walking distance. The hotel's restaurant is fine if you arrive late and just want a snack.

Right in the city centre, with parking too, which is a big plus. My stay was pleasant, the rooms were extremely clean, and the staff were very friendly. Communication was easy. Everything was perfect, and I'd highly recommend it for a stress-free stay.

The staff were really nice and helpful, but the rooms were dusty. I couldn't get the water to a comfortable temperature: when I tried running hot water for a bath, it was actually cold, then I burned my hand washing it in the sink. Is there no middle ground?

We stayed here four times over two weeks and had three different rooms. The beds were warm and cozy throughout. Two rooms had brand-new mattresses that were among the most comfortable I've ever slept on. I usually sleep badly away from home, especially when overtired, but these were firm while still giving a little, and I slept extremely well. The final room had an older mattress, a bit too soft for my taste but still comfortable. The breakfast was amazing, with a bigger range of tasty food than I've ever seen at a hotel. It felt like a resort spread, and the staff serving it were very courteous. At the front desk, everyone was professional and friendly too. The rooms were spotless, and we appreciated the complimentary bottle of seltzer and small chocolates. The balconies made the rooms feel more spacious. We could leave the balcony door tilted open at night for fresh air without someone being able to get in. Every room had a safe and refrigerator. A couple of small things could be better. The pillows weren't quite right for me: I like them firm and able to hold their shape. They provided two types, though, and both were comfortable enough. The showers looked gorgeous and had a nice temperature control and a wonderfully luxurious overhead head, but they got slippery when wet and splashed water around. We're looking forward to staying again when we're back in the area. I'd give the hotel 10 out of 10. Thanks for a wonderful stay!
