I work all over Germany, and this was by far the worst service I’ve ever had. The morning staff were fantastic, but the man working evenings behaved disgracefully and completely unprofessionally. On my third day, my face swelled up badly from an allergic reaction. I was trying to get advice, and while I was explaining that I needed medical help, a complaint was made. He told me to shut up and go to my room or he’d call the police. I don’t speak much German. I went back to my room, but I was sick in my sleep because of the reaction, and the bedding wasn’t changed for the rest of my stay. I had to ask for a fresh pillowcase after another four days. Bad laer is a beautiful town with many great hotels, but I don’t recommend this one at all.

The room was small but nice, maybe a bit overfurnished, though it was okay. The place is clean, quiet, and cosy, and the staff are friendly. Highly recommended!

We stayed a couple of nights on a work trip and found it to be a beautiful place, very carefully looked after.
