Hotel Muschinsky

The rooms are roomy and very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The café on site was lovely too, with delicious cakes. But our room was badly placed: a fan next door kept turning on and off morning and evening, making it hard to fall asleep or waking us very early. With emergency call buttons everywhere, the place felt more like a rehab clinic than a hotel. I do wonder how it earned four stars. They should decide whether they want to be a hotel or a clinic.

We were comfortable here and would definitely return. The hotel is only a short walk from the city centre, and the direct route to the clinic is especially handy in winter. Our room faced the courtyard and clinic, but was very quiet. It was spacious, the staff were attentive and friendly, and parking was free. Breakfast had a good range of bread, rolls, cold cuts, yogurt and fruit, plus freshly made scrambled and fried eggs. The café was another highlight: excellent cakes and ice cream, with quick, courteous, friendly service.

We came for an overnight stay while visiting spa guests. The rooms were clean and basically fine, but all the emergency call buttons made them feel unlike proper hotel rooms. In a four-star place, I’d expect a bathroom makeup mirror and dinner served from 6 to 7 pm. Our room was over the entrance, beside the stairs, and people seemed to come and go loudly in the stairwell for much of the night. They need to decide whether this is a four-star hotel or an extension of the spa facilities. It’s a shame, but next time we’d rather book a holiday apartment.

The food was always delicious, and the therapists and doctors are first-class. For the rooms, I think acute patients should be offered single rooms only, since having space to move around freely helps with well-being.
