The quiet made a big difference for me. I felt like I had the house to myself, and for the first time I could properly switch off without thinking about jobs waiting at home. The Kuck family were just as kind in person as they were quick to answer questions by phone. When I left, we talked for well over an hour, and they were helpful throughout. I even felt a bit guilty about how much I’d asked them. My stay was meant to be nine days, then I extended it to 14. I would’ve stayed another 11 if the apartment hadn’t already been booked. I spent nine days there with my wife, and our son joined us for the other five. He loved it and would’ve happily stayed another ten weeks, typical kid. The apartment felt like home and had excellent internet, so I was able to work there for five days without any trouble. It’s a convenient spot. With a six-year-old, we could stroll to the pedestrian zone in about ten minutes, even in 32°C heat. I’m 34 and mostly walked to shop with my backpack rather than using the car. Rewe and Lidl are close by. EDEKA is a bit farther, probably another 2 km. I’ve written a lot of reviews for Bad Pyrmont lately, and usually I don’t give five stars just because someone took the time to write one. But my 14 days here felt different. I was told, though I can’t remember by whom, that people in Bad Pyrmont stick together, or have to. That matched my experience: most people around here were incredibly nice and accommodating. A lovely apartment wouldn’t have meant much without friendly people around it. Perhaps that’s just how it felt to me, but I really did unwind. The apartment seems to be a bit of an insider tip since it’s only been listed as a holiday rental this year. Book ahead if you want particular dates. I’ll be reserving another week for us next year.
