Really good.

I slept well and was looking for nothing more, so the guesthouse worked fine for an overnight stay. It’s quite old-fashioned and, to my eye, over-decorated, though that’s a matter of taste. The breakfast was enough, with a bit of everything, and the building was quiet. There’s a parking lot, and the elevator was working. Nobody was there when I arrived, but they’d left a room key labeled with my name.

I was very happy with my stay and would gladly return. For such a low price, the room was a pleasant surprise, with a cozy feel, a great bed, good TV, and a spacious bathroom. The shower was the one drawback: it took a while to warm up and responded slowly when I changed the temperature. I arrived late, but my key was waiting at reception. Breakfast was fantastic, especially the scrambled eggs and coffee, with a very good buffet selection. The staff were friendly and helpful. The town center and spa park are a short walk away, and hiking trails start just three minutes from the hotel. Excellent value.

I’ve stayed at Haus Wernemann twice and felt very comfortable both times. The mattresses and pillows deserve special mention: I slept better than I have on any of my previous trips. The breakfast buffet was generous and impressive for such a reasonable price, with a good balance of options. I don’t need high-tech room features; a restful night and a good breakfast matter more to me. The rooms, halls, and building have a 70s/80s feel that I like, though the appliances are newer. Everything was clean and working. The staff were discreet, exceptionally friendly, and helpful. It’s in a very quiet part of Bad Rothenfelde, which suits my need to unwind, but the center is only a short walk away. I have no complaints and would happily return. The value for money is impressive.
