I was here on a work trip, and the room was warm and comfortable. I had a view of the building across the alley, while my mate on the other side of the hotel could see the historic wooden pedestrian bridge to Switzerland. You win some, you lose some. The spot on the square is handy, just minutes from local restaurants and drinking places, which were surprisingly good value. The receptionist was keen to explain how to use your phone to access the hotel and fitness room after he clocks off at 10.30pm. I was less interested after four pints, but tried it after a pub visit and it worked. Impressive, even if I wasn’t as excited as the guy at reception. The double bed had a single duvet, standard European issue. A bit odd, but not worth Brexiting over!

We felt at home and will definitely return. Our family room overlooked the river, and we enjoyed the complimentary coffee each morning on the terrace with that view. We brought our dog, who was treated really well too. The staff were friendly at reception and in the restaurant. We arrived on Monday afternoon, and the guy at reception was just fantastic, a real asset to the hotel.

The room was small but suitable, clean, and supplied with enough towels and toiletries. Room heaters are available, and breakfast is good. It’s a nice hotel for business or a holiday, right by the Rhine on the Germany-Switzerland border.

I stayed here for work. It’s a good hotel, with nothing especially fancy. I do wonder how many coat hangers get stolen each year for them to use those annoying theft-proof ones, probably millions. And the pillows definitely need an upgrade.

Breakfast was nice, though dinner got boring. The location is great and the staff are really pleasant. You can charge an electric car for free, but there's just one charger and it was occupied most of the time. No air conditioning, though they can lend you an electric fan.
