The fries were okay, but the rest of the meal didn’t work for me. The salad was limp, with mushy dark green bits, like it had been sitting in the fridge, and I didn’t like the dressing. The “Currywurst” was just a bratwurst with tomato sauce, nothing like what I expected when I ordered it. Service was nice. There are much nicer places if you go farther down into the city.
The grilled vegetables and baked potato were really tasty. The staff were nice, and the service was good too.
Getting onto the trails from here is easy, and after a long hike we could have a beer and dinner at the restaurant. The room was cozy and looked out over the forest, and the staff made us feel welcome. Breakfast was good. It seemed like every meal came with the same salad, though. Without a car, the shop is about 5 km away on foot, or you can take the bus for EUR 2,30. The WiFi was unreliable. Still, we had a good stay.
We had the best meal of our time in the area here. They were busy, but service stayed quick and friendly. Book ahead if you want to be sure of getting a terrace table.
After a tiring hike, stop here for lovely desserts and German food.
